Miss Jenn has been singing and performing music since she was three years old. Miss Jenn was given early admittance into the Douglas College Children’s Choir by Choral Director Diane Loomer. She has performed and studied under a variety of musicians – including: Stephen Horning, Marissa Gitan, and Lindsay Lindquest. Miss Jenn added the Oboe and Bassoon to her musical skills as a teen, performing in both large and small ensembles. As a vocal student at Kwantlen University College, Miss Jenn found Music History especially helpful in her studies of Celtic and Gaelic music. It was through her Celtic studies that she was introduced to the “Clarsach” (small scottish Harp) which became the perfect accompaniment for her voice. Under the instruction and mentorship of Rebecca Blair, and Alys Howe, as well as various workshops with Harper Tasche and Seamas Gagne, a whole new world of harp and voice was realized. Miss Jenn has studied Gaelic music and culture in Scotland and the Isle of Skye as well as studying the history of the music in the Hebridean Islands. Miss Jenn was a winner of the Northwest Region Scottish harping Competition in Skagit Valley, Washington.
